The third piece of our 100-year-old Houses series captures buildings with rich history from Budapest once again. Although the theme is unchanged, it still offers many ways of approach: the buildings reveal new and new faces on each occasion, providing us with endless viewpoints.
In 2018, although the search for symmetries as a concept appears on the finished photographs, the main role has been taken over by geometric shapes, such as the trapezoids recurring on multiple photos. The depths and dizzying heights of the spaces become more tangible – and this effect is also enhanced by the play on perspectives. As the sky is moving further away, instead of being a reachable end station, it fades into the mysterious unknown in these shrinking compositions. Time seems to stop in the inner city courtyards and gardens, enclosing millions of pieces of the past forever.
